Our Yanmar belt tensioner arm, when combined with our idler pulley, will substantially enhance the overall performance of our cruiser and Gen-maax line of marine alternators which are simple bolt on replacement high performance alternators specifically designed for your Yanmar marine engine.
No additional brackets are needed as this idler pulley is a universal fit on most Yanmar marine engines. It fits under plastic belt cover and adds extra flexibility along belt’s length. Perfect when the raw water pump is resident on the front lower right-hand side of the engine. The extra belt wrap on both the alternator and crank pulleys allows for a greater alternator upgrade, whilst keeping the belt in perfect tension and away from the water pump. Greatly enhanced when installed with an Electromaax serpentine pulley upgrade kit. With the turning of a bolt you’ll gain the perfect level of belt tension for your Yanmar engine, and if you combine our tensioner with the included Gates Green Stripe XL V-Belt you’ll easily increase the reliability of your charging system.
