E-MAAX Sensors & Peripherals
A regulator requires sensing devices to optimize the charge profile. Electromaax offers a range of sensors to meet this requirement; - Temperature
- Current (Amperage)
- Voltage
- Communication
A regulator's performance is contingent upon monitoring key performance parameters, Electromaax offers a full complement for sensors and communication peripherals to optimize and safe-guard the charging system.

Marine Alternator & Battery Temperature Sensor
The Temperature Sensor measures temperature of alternators or batteries and reports the measured values to the connected regulator. It is compatible with E-MAAX CSR, PRO, and PLUS series regulators. The Temperature Sensor is designed to be mounted directly onto alternator or battery on a temperature representative surface via 8mm (5/16”) mounting lug. |
Marine Alternator & Battery Current Sensor
The Current Sensor for either the battery or alternator is a part of the E-MAAX regulator systems; it measures currents to and from the batteries and reports the measured values to the connected regulator. It is compatible with E-MAAX PRO and PLUS series regulators. The Current Sensor mounts directly in series with the power cables via 8mm (5/16”) mounting lugs. |
Marine Battery Voltage Sensor
The Battery Voltage Sensor is a part of the E-MAAX regulator systems; it measures voltage across the batteries and reports the measured values to the connected regulator. It is compatible with E-MAAX PRO and PLUS series regulators. The Voltage Sensor is designed to be connected directly onto battery posts 8mm (5/16”) lug connectors (non-polarity specific). |
E-MAAX Multiple Sensor Hub
The E-MAAX HUB allows multiple sensors to connect to a single regulator port. In both the PRO and PLUS regulators more sensors need to connect than there are available ports directly on the regulator. To resolve this shortage the HUB provides the additional connectivity. |
E-MAAX Communication (COM) Module
The COM Module is compatible with E-MAAX CSR, PRO, and PLUS series regulators The COM Module provides two functions:
- A USB connection point for a PC to display system data
- Houses a Field Reduction Switch (FRS) which commands the regulator to reduce the alternator’s field coil current to 50% of its nominal value for the current charging conditions. The 50% reduction reduces engine load in conditions where maximum engine power is desired

E-MAAX Communication (COM) Module PLUS
The COM Module PLUS is compatible with E-MAAX PRO and PLUS series regulators. It provides four functions;
- A USB connection point for a PC to display system data, and to read or modify the regulator settings;
- A Bluetooth connection point for a PC when USB is not available. When connected to a PC via Bluetooth link, only system status display is available (no “write” capability).
- Houses the Field Reduction Switches (FRS) which commands the regulator to reduce the alternator’s field coil current (Field output) in 10% increments down to 30% of its nominal value for the current charging conditions. Such reduction reduces engine load in conditions where maximum engine power is desired.
- An audible alarm that notifies the operator that a critical fault has occurred. This alarm condition is visible in the USI as well.

E-MAAX Battery Hub PLUS
The E-MAAX Battery Hub PLUS (BHP) allows connection of two PLUS regulators to multiple battery sensors and to a Com Module Plus. A BHP is required with the Com Module PLUS to control both regulators on 2 engine systems. |

E-MAAX Extension Cable
The E-MAAX extension cable allows you to extend any point-to-point connection between the regulator, hub and/or sensor by 3 meters (118 inches) providing additional flexibility for your installation.
We do not recommend using more than one extension cable between any two connection points but if you do need an extension cable longer than 3 meters we also offer custom, made to length extension cables up to 15 meters (49 feet) long. Our custom extension cables are priced per foot plus an assembly charge and come with the connectors installed at each end.
The connectors are 1″ by 0.75″ (approx. 1.25″ diagonally) and if you can’t run the cable through tight areas with the connector on it we also include a lead free solder heat shrink terminal kit in case you need to cut and then splice the cable together again for your installation. |
